What is a window tint simulator?

A window tint simulator is a tool that shows you what a given tint darkness will look like on a car before the film is installed. Rova Tint does it in 3D on a model of your actual vehicle, so you can spin the car, tint each window separately and view it at night, rather than looking at a flat photo.

Is this window tint simulator free?

Yes. The demo is free to use with no signup and no email required. It runs in the browser on a phone, tablet or computer.

What does 20% tint look like?

20% tint, sometimes called factory tint, lets 20% of visible light through and blocks the other 80%. It reads as clearly dark from outside the car while still leaving good outward visibility from the driver's seat in daylight. Set the simulator to 20% and switch the scene to night to see how it behaves after dark.

What does tint look like at night?

Tint always looks darker at night, because there is less light outside to come through the film. Rova Tint has a night scene and a live rear-view mirror, so you can see the same VLT under streetlights and check what the driver actually sees out of the back glass before you commit to a shade.

What does VLT mean?

VLT stands for visible light transmission. It is the percentage of visible light a window lets through, so a lower number is a darker tint: 5% is limo, 20% is dark, 35% is the most popular balance, and 70% is close to clear.
